BCA Community Code of Conduct
At the Berlin Cello Academy (BCA), we love bringing people together to learn, grow, make music, and celebrate the cello. We’re committed to creating a safe, supportive, and inclusive environment where everyone feels welcome and respected—no matter who you are or where you come from.
Our Community Values
We expect all BCA participants, instructors, and volunteers to:
✨ Be kind and respectful.
Treat others with courtesy and empathy. Disagreements happen—handle them with patience and respect.
🌈 Celebrate diversity.
We welcome people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, nationalities, races, abilities, religions, and backgrounds. Discrimination or exclusion of any kind has no place here.
🤝 Support each other.
This community thrives when we encourage, uplift, and respect one another—whether giving feedback, learning together, or simply sharing our experiences.
What’s Not Okay
The following behavior will not be tolerated at BCA workshops or events:
- Harassment, bullying, or intimidation of any kind.
- Discrimination based on identity, background, ability, or expression.
- Derogatory or demeaning comments, slurs, or hate speech.
- Unwanted physical contact or communication.
- Any behavior that makes others feel unsafe or unwelcome.
If you’re asked to stop something that’s making someone uncomfortable, please do so immediately.
Consequences
If someone’s behavior doesn’t support our community standards:
- We may ask them to stop or adjust their behavior.
- We reserve the right to refuse workshop participation or remove someone from an event if necessary to maintain safety and respect for all.
