🇬🇧 Ready to keep playing? Our Beginner Cello Lab is a weekly cello course for students who have completed the Beginner Cello Crash Course or already have some basic cello experience.

During the Crash Course, we built the foundations of playing the cello — and now we’ll continue developing those skills through weekly group classes in a relaxed, supportive environment.

In this course, we’ll build on:

• 🎵 Proper cello posture and how to hold the instrument comfortably
• 🎶 A strong and relaxed bow hold
• 🎻 Basic bow technique and producing a clear, beautiful sound
• 📖 Reading basic music notation, beginning with the D and A strings
• 🎼 Playing simple songs and melodies, including Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star
• 👂 Developing listening skills, rhythm, coordination, and intonation
• 🎯 Building confidence and independence on the instrument

As we progress, students will learn new notes, rhythms, songs, and techniques while gradually expanding their range across the cello.

Only the very basics of holding a cello and finding some notes are necessary. This course is designed for students who have completed the Beginner Crash Course or have equivalent basic cello experience - a couple months of lessons. New sign up comes with a free 30 minute private lesson so you can be sure your level fits.

Weekly classes are Mondays from 6:45-8:15. Purchase a 4-pack of class sessions, to be used consecutively or almost consecutively.
