🟨🟩🟦⚫ Leichter Lernen & Beschwerdefrei Musizieren 🇬🇧🇩🇪

Saturday, February 13, 2027 @ 10:00AM — 1:00PMSat, Feb 13, 2027 @ 10:00AM — 1:00PM

RAW//CC, Revaler Straße 99, 10245 Berlin

🇬🇧 Want to keep playing the cello comfortably and pain-free for as long as possible, and actually remember what you practice? In this course with Julia Kursawe we'll explore how the body works and how to keep it running smoothly: from the anatomical and physiological foundations of posture and movement, to the sources of strain caused by the one-sided demands of playing an instrument, to rebalancing (stretching, complementary sports, treatments) as well as warming up and cooling down.

In the second part, we'll look at how we learn best and how to stop forgetting so quickly. We'll cover the neurophysiological foundations of learning and memory, the different types of memory and what they mean for practice techniques, the role of the senses and of language, and how much artistic creativity there is in practicing.

How we'll work together: - Short talks - Hands-on exercises you can join in with - Individual work at your instrument

A cello will be available at the course location. Please bring a yoga mat if you have one.

Julia Kursawe is a cellist and composer, performs as a musician in renowned Baroque orchestras and cross-genre ensembles, teaches cello, and continues her education in bodywork. In 2013, she completed the continuing education program “Music Physiology in Everyday Artistic Life” at the Kurt Singer Institute in Berlin and has been teaching in this field ever since. www.juliakursawe.de
